I spoke to a keeper there another week while Jimmy was doing filming for a new documentary. Apparently they're getting both the lions and tigers from Chessington. At first they'll go in the enclosure that's almost complete but then they will move the tigers into the woods on the hill
I thought the Asian lions would be moving to Wingham. Have these plans been changed?I spoke to a keeper there another week while Jimmy was doing filming for a new documentary. Was Hope one of the rescues from abroad, was she the one who came from Peak? I think Ewa was the first one to arrive wasn't she?

Hope was born at Marineland Antibes in France on November 26, 2014.
She was the firstborn of Flocke -Who has her own Wikipedia page- and Rasputin.
She was transferred to Orsa Predator Park in Sweden on January 19, 2018. She gave birth to her two sons, Noori and Nanook, there on November 29, 2021.
She and her sons were transferred to Peak Wildlife Park on June 30, 2023.
She was transferred to Jimmy's Farm roughly a year later, on or around June 28, 2024. Noori and Nanook still live at Peak Wildlife Park to my knowledge.
Peak still have her sons. They shared a nice short vlog of her with them before the move
This zoo has been on my radar for a few years, and once Chessington's lions and tigers arrive I think I'll arrange my first visit, either in 2026 or 2027. The only other zoos I've been to with polar bears was Edinburgh when I was a kid, so that's definitely something I want to see, and outside of the polar bears it does seem like a decent place overall.I just visited today for the first time and really enjoyed it. A charming place, not without its flaws, but all of them more than made up for by the Polar Bears and their great enclosure. I'm currently writing up a review which will go into my thoughts more thoroughly.
But I will just post this here as I think it is yet to be mentioned.

This was taken opposite those enormous paddocks which we've been speculating as being future tiger enclosures, overlooking the big valley which per the map once held sheep. This valley was also seeing some sort of construction works and doesn't appear connected to the 'tigers,' so perhaps we will get another interesting species in this project.
But of special note is 'a touch of India.' The tigers at Chessington are Siberian, whereas their lions are Asiatic, so are very much Indian. Unless of course they intend to use tigers as stand-ins for Bengals, I'd say that this makes lions more likely...
Speculation aside, it's still nice to have an idea as to what the theme of this area will be.
So what will happen at Wingham? Are they getting Asian lions from another collection or will they stick with their resident male Clarence?Had confirmation today from a zookeeper of another zoo that Jimmys is indeed getting the amur tigers and asiatic lions from chessington!

I believe they are due to be moved next month.Had confirmation today from a zookeeper of another zoo that Jimmys is indeed getting the amur tigers and asiatic lions from chessington!
I always wonder what chessington are going to do with their land of the tiger. A whole tiger themed area won’t have any tigers next month! They were never getting the ones from chessington.

It wouldn’t surprise me if they restock the tigers in 18 months once the building work is complete next to there enclosure, as you say it’s only recently been built and this move might be a precaution to the building works, I don’t know if any services etc that might be required are under there enclosures. I know the water ride was recently update for a couple of million so that’s not going anywhere sone.I always wonder what chessington are going to do with their land of the tiger.
