Things That Irritate You in Life

“Nothing beats a Jet2 holiday” soundtrack/trend:

It’s repetitive, it’s grating and I just wanna watch the clip.
It's surprising how a small Tiktok trend has seemingly grown into a huge trend across all social platforms. There used to be funny meanings behind most/all clips that is was present in but it now it seems it's just thrown on top of any video for the sake of it.

Perhaps it isn't just for the sake of it, it's a crude way for people to see your video/reel/short more easily when they look up other videos that also use the same audio track

Man, one thing that used to irritate me, especially before Covid 19, was when all of the free parking spaces near the University of Arizona here in Tucson, Pima County, Arizona were taken and I would have to go into one of the nearest parking garages and have to pay a fee. The part that was especially irritating was when many of the free spaces were occupied by an expensive luxury car that I cannot afford, will never be able to afford, and don't care to ever be able to afford (i.e. a BMW, Range Rover, or Land Rover etc.) whose owners can clearly afford to frequently/consistently pay for parking. The other thing I often think that doesn't sit well with me is, what is an 18 or 19 year old kid doing with an 80,000 dollar or 100,000 dollar car?

Man, I totally get what you’re saying. I’ve run into the same thing over here in Norfolk County, Massachusetts. I’ll circle around looking for the free parking spots near campus, only to see every one of them already taken. Then I end up having to bite the bullet and go into a garage and pay, which is frustrating enough. What makes it sting more is when half those free spots are filled with brand-new BMWs, Range Rovers, or whatever other luxury cars. Like, if you can afford to drive something worth $80,000 or $100,000 at 19 years old, you can definitely afford the parking fee. Meanwhile, I’m the one stuck paying just to get in the door.

This is a really specific pet peeve but it irritates the hell out of me when someone is trying to praise a movie (or anything, games/TV/etc, but this comes up by far most often with movies) and the next thing out of their mouth is to put down another one. This is common in discussing franchise movies but I've also seen it for directors/companies so it's not exclusive to that.

There's a couple of reasons this bugs me. First of all, for me it feels as if I am being told that in order to like A, I need to not like B, and therefore that if I like B, I can't like A. It creates a binary sense these are mutually exclusive categories, especially when it's repetitious.

It also just feels like if A is genuinely good in the first place, there should be a lot more to talk about than how much you hate the other movie/game/etc. That shouldn't come ahead of telling me what you actually did enjoy. Just leaves me feeling like it must be pretty empty.

This seems like it's a lot more common in media discourse and I hate it.

It irritates me when you do something via a website that 'requires' both parties receiving feedback.
I *always* give feedback (eBay and Vinted etc)
I do some cat sitting while inbetween jobs, and feedback is so important for this. It shows other potential clients I'm reliable coming into your home. It's via a website and you only have 5 days to give feedback after your last day of the booking which, fair enough, not many people know/realize, so I do send a friendly reminder, they reply back with 'oh yes off course' and then they don't do it :(

I am annoyed that a lot of people are against removing some invasive species because they supposedly look "cute" even though they cause considerable damage to the ecosystems they are in. Feral horses and donkeys in North America are one example. Feral horses and donkeys are invasive species that destroy habitats for many species in the western US. Yet because so many people like horses, there are very few efforts to remove them. Hippopotamuses in Colombia are another example. Hippopotamuses in Colombia are an invasive species that destroys habitats for many species. Yet because so many people think they are cute, there is massive backlash against removing them, even though these hippos cause considerable damage to the ecosystem.

Feral cats...

Getting stomach flue. Getting sick and having to throw up at work. Having to travel home on a train while sick.

Yeah, it was a bad day. I hope this will be over soon.

I get irritated by posts on Zoochat that are lifted straight from Instagram, where it wasn’t in English, gives minimal information, and too often it’s about a goat!
What do you mean you don’t like getting notifications from the threads for posts that are just a large chunky link that are about the births of meerkats and domestics?? :000 ;):p

Yep. ‘X zoo has bred a donkey and four goats’:)

Here is another thing that frankly irritates me, if you all don’t mind me mentioning this. It happened last night on public transit. I met a girl I was attracted to, liked, and connected with, we even had a fair amount in common, and then she told me she had a boyfriend. I don’t think anyone likes hearing that, but that is part of life. I handled it by saying, “He must be pretty cool to be with you,” and she lit up and smiled. After that, I just moved on with my evening. I don’t like hearing about that or encountering it, but it is what it is and there is nothing I can do about it. I just need to keep working on myself, keep putting myself out there, and keep putting my best foot forward. Some people may not agree with this and understandably, but things happen (or don't happen) for a reason.

So I decided to get into drawing after getting a new ipad and installing procreate, but I still feel finicky and never end up liking what I drew. Sometimes the things I draw take longer than what they should, especially considering the fact that the end product is just rookie work. As recent as now, I tried to draw an Arabian oryx using reference pictures but I ended up drawing the proportions off and feel discouraged from drawing. Instead of giving up I decided to trace using the photos I previously used as references, which I was hesitant to before, but now I feel shame.

It blows because part of the reason why I want to get into drawing is that I have come up with the conclusion that among fantasy and other fiction, the type I prefer (basically like the Katurran Odyssey) will never be popular amongst normies, and won’t be made. Which is why I need to take matters into my own hands and start drawing. But creating those worlds and stories will take a hot minute with the rate I am doing things.
