Newquay Zoo Newquay Zoo News

I think they meant one of four collections.

Although by all accounts the claim by Tierpark Donnersberg to hold the species is highly doubtful - and it wouldn't be the first time the collection claimed something fairly commonplace was something much more unusual, either. Moreover, the animal/animals in Madrid are almost certainly either Linne's Two-toed Sloth, or hybrid animals containing some Hoffman's blood.

As such, when it comes to definite Hoffman's it is pretty much just Newquay and Skansen-Akvariat.

It seems that this matches the announcement about Paignton. There is no suggestion of closure, but both zoos need investment, in Newquay's case to redevelop the former macaque exhibit in particular.
I did make a comment that Newquay looked a little 'run down' when I visited recently though it might have been due to the poor weather that day. The monkey enclosures are very old and outdated now. The old bear/macaque enclosure is the standout example though its carefully hidden by colourful hoardings about the WPT etc. The Penguin area is having a refit though. I was pretty sure WPT still don't own the land there and that seems to be correct.
