Chester Zoo Zoo Days

it was a repeat of a previous series
I actually e-mailed Channel 5 about a month ago asking if there was another series planned, they said not at the moment but would pass on my request so maybe more requests would make them rethink??

i think chester should do its own tv series even if it was just a 10 minute podcast each week. i think there would be a lot of interested in it.
I'd go for that .... I love to know what's going on - not that we are always informed mind!!!

yeah we still not officially heard about baby tina!
id be happy to present it if they wanted a presenterive often thought about taking a video camera and doing my own little program but dont think the zoo would be too happy
Mmm, perhaps you could do it in stealth .... grap a Chester Zoo fleece, shorts and push a barrow of something around looking all official! Seriously though, it would be nice to have some regular update, the Zoo Days was great, I really enjoyed it, it made me visit Colchester Zoo - just to see Rajang the Orang!

Colchester definitely worth a visit - it's a kind of different angle to Chester in some cases with some different animals etc. My favs are Orangs - particularly the males with face flanges - hence Rajang is tops - he's awesome! But saying that, Chester has it's excellent RORA - groups of orangs. Colchester is family run still so doesn't seem as commercial as Chester. Colchester also has giraffes, white rhinos and zebras out in paddock together which is nice to see. I love both Zoos - but visit Chester more as it's only an hour and a bit away whereas Colchester is about 4 hrs visit so we stay overnight. Go on .... have a visit ... you'll not be disappointed!

I noticed the repeat of Zoo Days at Chester was on this week, but does anyone know when this originally went out ? Was it 2007 ?
(Having just got next weeks Radio Times, the synopsis of one up and coming episode refers to the keepers being pleased to see Sibu the orangutan return for a visit).

i think it originally aired around christmas time last year
I think it was filmed about a year ago as the last series saw Tejas the Asiatic Lion Cub going to France Zoo which was 15th Jan 2008. I think they are on the 2nd series now - it's hard to say as they seem to be repeated and then mixed up. Ironically, I was trying to find the episode where Sibu returned on the ones I'd recorded so that has saved me a task!! Thanks for the info - I've found it in the TV Listings now
The third series has finished now, but channel 5 are showing repeats (I think it's on fairly early on weekends as well, but not entirely sure).
There hasn't been any filming for a while now and the zoo has to mention that cameras are present, but that sign hasn't been up for while either.
First series was shown in late 2007, second series was in early 2008 and third series was in late 2008.
