Sumatran Tigers in Europe #2

Was the pairing there in Edinburgh just not suitable? I remember years ago it being on TV I think it was that they were supposed to be a breeding pair.

They were intended to be a breeding pair. Introductions took place but no cubs have yet resulted.

After several years it's normal for the EEP to intervene and suggest transfers and different breeding opportunities for both of them.

Thanks! Fingers crossed for a better pairing.

Karis at Zoo Heidelberg has given birth to a litter of two on November 22, the sex of the cubs is not yet known. The indoor habitat will remain closed for visitors to give mother and cubs time to bond.

Father is the late Tebo - conceived just before his death at the end of August.

Nice but also a bit surprising as this pair already had two litters with five surviving cubs (Jambi/Fota, Dumai/Nesles, Sabah/Sosto, Tujuh/Lincoln, Mawar/Aalborg)
