On September 1st, the zoo announced they acquired a golden lion tamarin named Archibald from Roger Williams Park Zoo in Rhode Island.

On July 25th, the zoo announced that an Inca tern hatched, which is on display in the Diversity of Birds aviary.

On September 12th, the zoo announced they named the tern Tingo.

On October 1st, the zoo announced they temporarily transformed the indoor Komodo dragon exhibit into a hatchery for monarch butterflies over the summer, with the butterflies now located in the Outreach Animal area.

On May 1st, the zoo announced they moved (0.1) Cape porcupine Holley and (1.0) slender-tailed meerkat Petrie into the Von der Decken's hornbill/Taveta weaver/crested coua mixed species exhibit, with (0.2) meerkats Ducky and Littlefoot remaining in the original meerkat exhibit.

On October 3rd, the zoo announced that a female (0.1) meerkat named Ducky passed away. The zoo also announced they reintroduced Petrie with Littlefoot, with both now on display in the meerkat exhibit.

On October 30th, the zoo announced they acquired (4.3) lined seahorses, which are now on display in the USS Antiquities Cave/Aquarium building.

While saying goodbye to a beloved animal is hard, this move will help bolster the critically endangered Amur leopard population. But fear not, guests will be able to spot some new spots in the Zalie and Bob Linn Amur Leopard Woodland habitat soon.
