I thought Sibu was supposed to go somewhere else? (Mentioned earlier in this thread).

Yanadar needs to learn the game so hopefully he will be able to observe.

The pregnancies have been officially confirmed today by Artis. According to a report in a Dutch newspaper, the first calf is expected in January and the second in March.

According to the zoo, Sibu is supposed to show Yadanar how it's done, but it wouldn't be a problem if the two cows with breeding recommendations actually had offspring with Sibu.

Is there a digital source for this? Not questioning it's validity but I just enjoy keeping track of news as it comes out.

I expected him to get the job done fast, but this is just absurd but in the best way possible. At this rate, Ma Ya Yee might already be bred herself, hopefully two healthy calves will be born sometime in late 2027

Yadanar was in the bachelor group. He is already a pretty big bull, I don’t think they can just let him run with Sibu and the females.
 
Wildlands has provided an update on Sibu:

Immediately after arrival, Sibu and the young bulls Mauk and Manoa were able to calmly observe each other and make trunk contact through the fence. The next day, Sibu was introduced to the three adult cows. The ladies reacted as expected: there was a lot of sniffing, trunk contact and exploratory behaviour. Later that day, a first, brief mating attempt was even observed. Over the weekend, Sibu sometimes stayed with the cows and sometimes spent time alone.

On Monday, he was introduced to the two young males, Mauk and Manoa, without a fence between them. The young bulls showed a lot of interest and approached Sibu attentively. Sibu remained calm and approachable; there was no aggression.

The introduction to the 16-year-old bull Yadanar will follow at a later date. Given Sibu's calm behaviour and the positive first encounters with Mauk and Manoa, no problems are expected at this stage. The fact that Sibu and Yadanar can smell each other and did not react to each other when the group composition changed (during which they walked fairly close to each other with a fence between them) makes the keepers optimistic. Nevertheless, this step is also being carefully prepared; nothing is being rushed.

so, possible Mun got pregnant at the age of four years old.

so far, not that much of succes at Copenhagen with the elephants.
any news about an other herpes vaccine approach?

Haven't heard much on Chester's vaccine since they announced it, but I would hope they're begining to roll it out now. Sending over the US' vaccine should also hopefully be a possibility.

Sibu was introduced to Yadanar this morning. Given Sibu's calm behaviour and the positive first encounters with Mauk and Manoa, no problems were expected in advance. Sibu and Yadanar immediately approached each other and sniffed each other thoroughly with their trunks, but both remained calm and not much later they were eating together with Mauk and Manoa.
