Blue Planet Aquarium Aquarium news

2.0 North American River Otter have been moved to New Forest Otter and Owl park this week

Police and Aquarium staff are searching for a West African Mud Turtle. The Turtle is believed to have been stolen from its exhibit this afternoon, possibly to order :(

Does the collection no longer hold North American River Otters? I saw no sign or signage for them when I visited last year.

Visited Blue Planet today on a whim, a few pieces of interest:

. In the Flooded Forest Boa Constrictors have been replaced by Madagascan Tree Boas

. In the Lake Malawi exhibit the Sulcata Tortoises have been replaced by Pancake Tortoises. The big Giraffe Catfish is gone from the Cichlid tank and signage removed

. In Frog World there is now a young Lau Banded Iguana on display

. Managed to see a few no-shows from my last visit including Giant Pacific Octopus, Arabian Bamboo Shark and Goliath Grouper

. In the World of Venom exhibit there is a Green Cat-eye Snake (Boiga cyanea), they are one of two facilities in the UK with this beautiful species

. I missed both Wobbegong species again sadly, but I’m sure they are very hard to find

. No Zebra Sharks seen so potentially have left the collection

Are they on show? This might be the motivation I've been looking for to go visit, I go past every week on my way to Chester Zoo.

The Facebook post says that the young are being cared for off-show, but the adult females are on-display in the Flooded Forest exhibit.
