Its not very clear with the resolution, but in terms of photos from early 2000s of, there are these with first from 22 Sep 2000: Google Earth - Perth Zoo

I really missed the ground-level viewing windows when I visited last year. I hope something similar is included in the design when the redevelopment finally happens.
