Is there anyway of separating notifications from photo's and forum posts?

I turned my notifications off because I got annoyed with the amount of emails I was receiving, however I would like to set my account so I receive notifications on photos because usually I have asked a question on the photo. At this moment in time my only option is to edit response in advanced and change the notification settings.

Is there a way of doing this?

Of anyone else knows the answer would you please enlighten me.

Hmm - good question.

At the moment, you only have two of choices:

1. turn on automatic subscription for everything - which means that any threads or photos you post in will send you emails when anyone else posts in them

2. turn off automatic subscription for everything - which means that you must then manually subscribe to any threads or photos that you want to receive updates about

I'll have to think about whether it is possible to add another option allowing you to turn automatic subscription on for just photos while leaving threads as manual subscription.

Alternatively - you could leave automatic subscriptions turned on, and then whenever you start getting emails about a thread you have posted in, you can easily choose to unsubscribe from that thread ... this allows you to pick and choose which threads you get notifications from.

Can I ask how do you turn the notifications off. I don't check my emails very often (maybe once a week) and it takes ages to sort through them all.

Go into the Control Panel -> Edit Options

Look for the section called "Default Thread Subscription Mode" and change this to "Do not subscribe" or "No email notification" (if you still want to be subscribed but not receive an email about it ... you can then browse through your subscribed threads in the control panel).

To unsubscribe from a specific thread - look for the "Thread Tools" menu at the top of the thread and select "Unsubscribe from this thread". You should also get a link to unsubscribe from a specific thread in the subscription notification emails that you are sent.
