So now Animal Adventure's out the way, is London Zoo already starting out plans for the Cat Terrace renovation? If anyone knows any plans for this or any other new development at London, please share.

Last week there was construction fencing surrounding the garden next to the Komodo Dragon house and one half of the Anoa paddock (The anoa have retained the half of the enclosure closest to the Casson pavillion)

This construction is for "Land of the Giants" - a new exhibit for Giant Tortoises. However, there were no plans displayed for this new exhibit.

n.b. there is also minor redevelopment in the old RR Hog enclosure because it is being extended for the Wild Dogs.

Visited London on monday, and saw a lot of building work behind the komodo dragon and Anoa enclosure.
I will post my own review of the Zoo later this week, along with the pictures I took.

That is the new galapagos tortoise exhibit

when is the land of the giants exhibit planned to be opened? (i'm hoping to go this summer)

Yes, was at ZSL London about a month ago (sorry for not getting round to posting pictures etc) and the RRH were moved to one of the old cat enclosures behind where the lions are, opposite B.U.G.S.

I thought there weren't any Galapagos tortoises in captivity? Where will they be sourced?

Chester keeps the Galapagos variety, so it's possible they could come from there.

Either that, or they get some Aldabrans, call them Galapagos Tortoises and the public wouldn't know the difference.

Lol I would hope not. I'm sure they'll find a way, maybe even find some customs confiscatees.

Well would you look at that... Has any collection in Europe bred them?

Zurich and Prague have bred them in the past, Zurich being the most successful.

Speaking of new developments is there is any news on the proposed Sumatran tiger exhibit that was mentioned on here a few months ago?

Thanks. Nope, not heard any more about the tigers.
