Toronto Zoo Animals in the Past.

Where did the Spoonbills go? If I am not mistaken the zoo used to have snowy owls before the ones they have now right? And isn't there one Tawny frogmouth left, I know Tony was eutinized in January?

I think the bettong died sortly after the renovation.

The timing seems right; I think the last time I saw him/her was just before the pavilion was closed for renovations.

Some reptiles I remember:

Iguana (not sure which species, but this fella: http://www.flickr.com/photos/17019885@N00/2913592588/ )
Anaconda
Sidewinder (unless I somehow just keep missing it)
I also remember a large monitor-type lizard in the Indonesian exhibit until fairly recently

I think the monitor-type lizard is a water monitor, I think he/she was in the exhibit with now houses some species of Tortoise?

The zoo may have the sidewinder but it may be just off exhibit.

Where was the anaconda kept?

Yep, got the location right :)

I believe the Anaconda was in the exhibit where the Boa Constrictor is now, or very close next to it. There was a life size (or close to life size) picture of it showing its length over the exhibit.

I don't know if the Toronto Zoo ever had anacondas ... the exhibit you described sounds like the pre-renovation reticulated python exhibit.

That could be it!

I think there also used to be Chinese Water Dragons unless they're still there and I keep missing them. My knowledge/memory/ID of the reps isn't as sharp as the mammals and some of the birds.
