As you may know today to female Bengal tigers have arrived (one is pregnant) and the male is coming in a few weeks.
I was just wondering if anyone new where the tigers came/coming from?
 
West Midlands? They did or still do have a issue with space in there tiger house

I don't think any have left westmiddlands, so I would persume they still have issues.

Do Noah's ark really need a male if one of the females is pregnant?

I can't see the point of bringing in a male either! He will just have to be kept apart from the female and her cub/s prehaps they want him for the second female?
 
Doubt they came from Europe, I wouldn't think Noah's ark had the proper quarantine facilities. I hope they just stick with the "Bengals" and don't get Amurs too. And why get 3? Doesn't really do much for their solitary lifestyle.
 
I was told that the Bengal Tigers were going to come from West Midlands,i realy cannot see them coming from mainland Europe as they don`t have the means to quarantine them within the zoo.most people know my feelings on this place so as to why that would get a male when 1 of the females is pregnant its Noahs Ark they do what they want even if its not logical to any of us.

It said in the paper that the tigers were coming from a private collection in the east of england:confused:. Maybe the male is coming from West Midland?

Im sure when Noahs Ark announced that they were getting tigers they said they were getting Bengal and Amur..do you think they meant they were hybrids? or do they intend getting amur aswell??

No it says they are also getting 2 amur tigers
And the 5 tigers will be split between 3 cages. Im guesing the 2 amur will be together, the two female bengals together and the male bengal on his own but will be mixed with the females when there on heat.

I think it's good that they're getting the hybrids, makes sense to get some experience and then maybe get a subspecies, but we all know that that'll never happen and they'll end up in the same situation as WMSP (in the West btw:P)

It reduces stress, as when an animal needs to be isolated, blood drawn, injected or health checked they are used to going through the tunnels twice a day. as the tiger enters, rather than releasing the door into the housing or enclosure you close the door at the other end of the tunnel and use the built in crush to move the animal to the side of the tunnel for vet work without the need to dart it every time.

At least thats how mine work!
Knowing Noahs Ark they probably have another reason
 
Ah that makes sense, didn't think of it from that angle. And yes, they probably think it mimics the passage to heaven or something... Too far...?

I'm sure you're right. I'm pretty sure there aren't any 100% pure Bengals in British zoos (possibly not in Europe) - just degrees of hybrids.
