Chester Zoo Mystery ungulate

When was this species meant to be arriving? I sort of forgot this thread existed to be honest.

This thread has been running longer than an 'Eastenders' storyline...

Can't anyone enlighten us on when it is going to be revealed what species this is? Its setting itself up for an anticlimax.:(

Utlimately I this to be an anticlimax, Chester plans change alot (probably more down to the industry).

However from hearing different things a few new ungulates could be introduced with space being freed up however I have not heard anything on the grapevine of species that could join the collection.

I heard today that the zoo's application to import scoopidoosaurus was turned down by a jobsworth at DEFRA, who said, 'if it ain't on my list, it don't enter the UK.'

These folk are worse than MI5/MI6. Anyhow, they do not show the same scrutiny when dealing with domestics or livestock. PLAIN STUPID ... if you ask me!

scoopidoosaurus . an unique relict herbivore from the Dinosaur Age and only surfaces every few thousand years from its cave-like lifestyle .....

Chester are really disappointed not to be having scoopidoosaurus, they wanted an animal which showed itself more often than the Bornean Orang Utans.

Which section was going to look after them,as finding staff with knowledge of how to care for them must be difficult.

since when do unicorns exist

Since time began, you mean to say that you have never seen one in the wild in the depths of the New Forest:pits one of the most amazing sight you can see in the natural world the only thing that beats it is seeing a Pink Elephant in Crewe;):D

And the Oompa Loompas in Winsford... oh wait, that's just the girls wearing too much fake tan...

I think this mystery ungulate, would be a species that would be linked to an area of special interest that the zoo currently has, so there fore it may be an ungulate from

The Philippines
Brazil
West Africa
India
China

Which really narrows the field for me (not!)

At the end of the day zoogiraffe has told us of a conversation he has had with a member of staff at the zoo, that happened to include mention of a possible new species.
And in the fullness of time we will find out, but it is keeping us all on the edge of our seats.

I bet he is regretting the day he ever told us now!
