I was wondering what species I would like to have at the zoo if I owned it. How about you guys?

Heres mine:

Vervet Monkeys
Addax
Blackbuck ( I want them back!!)
Aye Aye
Asiatic Lion (Because Subu and Leoni will probably never breed!)
Leopard

Got any more?:D

Great ideas Colchester-Dude!
Unfortunately 1 zoo can only ever hold 1 species of lion at a time so they dont inbreed.Bit of a stupid rule really as quite alot zoos hold animals geographically anyway so it wouldnt be a problem.
I would like to see Snowleopards again and another Tiger species in Sasha's Enclosure when he passes away.
A bear species? Would be great to see Bears in colchester if it was European or even Spectacled or Sun Bear :)

That would be a nice species to see :)
When Sabu dies which could be very son definately in the next 1-3 years as he is 19 or so any ideas what will happen to Leoni? Get a new mate or go to a new zoo, Perhaps Newquay?

Good Question Riziki:D

Colchester may try to breed her or hopefully they will introduce another female and a new male to start a pride:)

From what ive seen of pictures of Lion Rock it is not really big enough for 3 individuals plus cubs.Or am i wrong?
This could be a very good enclosure in the near future for non breeding male individuals there are quite alot in Uk collections and a group or two would come in useful.
Lion Rock could do a great job of holding a group of 3-4 castrated/vesectomed male lions.

Unforuately I dont think Subu will be around for much longer either :(

I would like to see the return of either Snow Leopards or Jaguars, in Sasha the white tigers enclosure when he sadly passes
I would also like to see more chimps in a larger enclosure (not sure where though as there is not much more room)

Other species I'd like to see:
Iberian Wolf and Dhole (to return)
Common Hippo
More Hoofstock, don't mind which species
Sun Bears
Reticulated Python
Gaboon Viper

PS Colchester Dude- where did the Bactrian Camels go and what happened to the pair of Iberian Wolves?

Lion Rock will only be big enough for a pair of Lions+ cubs at any one time, there are only 2 indoor dens!

That would be a good use of Sasha's enclosure for me i think Jaguars would be more suited to it.
It is a shame about Subu but these things happen :( - He is such a remarkable good looking lion from the pictures ive seen he is looking quite abit younger then he looks. The last time i saw him was 2001 so he was about 10 and he looked fantastic.

Thanks Roz i thought that might be the case!
Still with a bit of modifications to the indoor area it would be very capable of holding a small group of non breeding lions. :)
Something we do need!

Thanks Roz

Iberian Wolves were sent to Kent I think but I'll ask the Zoo where the Camels went:D

Woud you also be able to ask about the plans for new exhibits after the Tropical house is done please? ;)

Okapi would be good :D
Perhaps more Duikers other than just the one blue duiker?
Somali Wild Ass
Gentoo Penguin
Species to return:
Ocelot
Fishing Cat
Cotton Top Tamarin (where did they go?)
Red Fronted Lemur

How about Okapi?

Yeah Okapi would be near the top of my list, although where would they go?

Smaller animals where space wouldn't be as much of an issue:
Aye-Ayes
Another species of penguins in one of the current pools
Bush baby
Armadillo
Naked Mole Rat

Other:
A bat walk through
Butterfly house (Wasn't one planned to go in the new orangutan house?)
