What Do you Prefer, African or Asian elephants

yes, for example, woodland park, 2 asian one african, san diego zoo, 5 asian (i think) one african
 
close 6 asians,

ranchi, mary, cookie, cha-cha, sumithi and devi. With Tembo.
 
I think the reason i like Asian elephants is because my closest zoo (chester) has Asian elephants and i grw up with Asians and i only ever saw Africans at Dudley, Knowsley and WMSP.
 
what a hard one!!

when i think of elephant - i default to asians. whilst i do love asian elephants with their mammoth like proportions, this is probably because there are virtually no african elephants in australia and i had barely even seen one in the flesh until a trip to colombo zoo about 5 years ago.

but i have to say those young africans were breathtakingly elegant.

how can anyone choose!
 
I like both, but seeing as I grew up seeing Asian at my local Zoo (Chester) I guess I have a soft spot for them! :D

That could be my reason. I do like both, but in different ways. I prefer the look of Asian elephants, but I get more excited about seeing African elephants because I don't see them as often.
 
I voted for African only because thats the species Jacksonville Zoo has now. Since i was A youngster I always been very intriged elephants.
 
I have only worked with Asian elephants but have always wanted to be involved in African Elephant care. Africans have a look of wisdom Asains seem more cheeky and childish.
 
One thing I like about Asian elephants is how the cows look like they are smiling all the time.
