Can anyone tell me some zoos in North America that have Cape buffalo? Especially if they happen to be near Wyoming?

Denver Zoo, Greater Vancouver Zoo, Safari West, San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park, and Jacksonville Zoo, African Safari Wildlife Park and the Tulsa Zoo...according to ISIS.

Thanks for the info Ituri. Where are African Safari Wildlife Park and Safari West?

none

there are cape buffalos at the jacksonville zoo.....apparently they are also at Busch Gardens and Disney but I did not see them in the exhibits

none

african safari is a drive through animal park in sandusky, ohio....if you are passing through town it is nice to visit but don't just come here just to see the park as it is nothing great

Disney does not have Cape buffalo, and yeah I missed Busch Gardens. Safari West is in California.

But Denver is definitely the closest to Wyoming.

Safari West is northeast of Santa Rosa, CA which is in Sonoma County north of San Francisco. Lodging is available in authentic safari tents, safari type vehicles take visitors through the property. In addition to Cape Buffalo they have a nice collection of hoofstock, white rhinos, cheetahs, lemurs, giraffes, great bird aviaries and even have Watusi cattle. It's probably as close to a real African safari and you can get in the US.

i don't think so, Disney and busch gardens

It would basically be impossible to house african buffalo at Disney, as they would ram the safari vehicles (Unless the recived there own exhibit)

Okay that's simply not true for two reasons.

One, vehicles travel through the area with the cape buffalo at Safari West, I think the danger to the vehicles is overstated. But the definite reason your statement isn't true is that several animals on Kilimanjaro Safaris have there own area (black rhinos, elephants, lions, etc...) so there is no reason they couldn't do this with them. In fact they already have Savannah North that the jeep does not drive through. They did wish to have forest buffalo at the lodge, but there weren't any available.

Which is why i wrote "Unless the recieved there own exhibit", read little more next time ;)

Excuse me? By saying that for them to get Cape buffalo would be basically impossible, you implied that building them a seperate exhibit would also be impossible. Check your wording next time and try to avoid superlatives like "impossible", particularly when what you are talking about is indeed possible.

Again... read a little more, I wrote it would basically be impossible and then in the brackets i wrote "unless they built a seperate exhibit", Hence... the basically part
