On a recent visit to the centre I was wondering what would be everyones best value for money zoo/park because this the Birmingham Nature Centre really is a little gem.
It doesn't have a vast aray of animals but the ones it does have are excelently displayed in such a small area.
There are some little gems in here like the Ocelots, Canadian Beavers (when you can catch them out), Red squirrels, Blue Cranes and Scottish Wildcat.
the whole of the area is very wiseley used and attractivly layed out and for just £3.00 per adult then what can you say.
Iknow all zoo's could improve on something or other but this is a centre that has tried to develope in such a small area,
What are your best value for money experiences. (please no putting down zoo's as this only upset's some people and let's keep it friendly)

Those wonderful folks at Leeds City Council are responsible for Tropical World (about £3 entry for adults) and Lotherton Bird Garden (free except for the car park) - I think council-run collections will dominate this thread.

Linton Zoo - its only £7.50 for an adult and £5.00 for a child. The Cafe and the gift shop are both very cheap. The Zoo houses African Lions (2 groups),Tigers,Leopards,Snow Leopards,Tapir's,Hartman's Mountain Zebra and plenty of birds.
It is alot cheaper than the zoo near it - Shepreth Wildlife Park with £8.95 for adults and £6.95 aswell as a seperate charge for Waterworld and Bug City (Just their small but good Reptile/Bug house but with £1.95 for adults and £1.45 for children aswell as the seperate small train price it can get very expensive and its only a small rescue centre but with 2 larger animals such as Amba and Rana the Tigers - It is a great little park but very pricey, For me Linton is a lot better priced and more worth the visit.
