Shaldon Wildlife Trust New species at Shaldon

Thats it I`ve got to visit between christmass and new year now, never seen these before they do look nice.

According to ISIS, the RSCC (Sandwich) and Newquay have also obtained this species. Seems as if it has suddenly become available from somewhere - private breeders, maybe?

Shaldon has developed a closer link with Newquay Zoo.

Which species?, there are four species of Tamiops Squirrels. They are only found in Asia.

Tamiops swinhoei, according to ISIS.

That is becouse the former owner of Shaldon (who bought shaldon back in the 70s and built it up to its present state) is now director of Newquay-Shaldon was turned in to a trust some years ago. there is a close links between RSCC and Shaldon/Newquay aswell.

From my extensive postcard collection, I have found this view of The Ness at Shaldon before the Zoo was there. Photo shows sheep in a field and the large house.
