Twycross Zoo just a note to post

this is just a reminder for people who donate to the zoo and those who wish to.

donatable items include:

*Paper sacks/hessian sacks
*Wallpaper/wrapping paper
*Toilet/kitchen rolls
*Adult socks (Clean!)
*Sheets, blankets, towels, pillowcases
*Strong plastic tubs and jugs
*Duvet covers (poppers removed)
*Wellington boots
*Adult sized jumpers (buttons etc cut off)
*Footballs, basket balls, tennis balls
*Lava lamps or other novel lighting
*Catalgoues/newspaper
*Garden Hose
*Large plastic pipes/grey pipes (clean)
*Tyres (smaller than car tyres)

im sure the zoo will thank us for bringing in these items

Don't knock lava lamps, they're awesome (especially the genuine Mathmos ones).

I imagine the idea is they'd provide eye candy for the apes. Historically Twycross have had TV screens in the ape houses.

You are right they put the items behind glass and the chimps can interact with them it ranges from tvs to radios

I'm not a fan of tv in ape houses, but I do like the idea of lighhting distractions to add enrichment
