Chester Zoo Visit - 26/06/2010

I believe the zoo has plans to fit all the rhino with GPS collars, the aim being to track their paddock movements in real-time via Google Earth.*

*Part or all of this might not be true.

Nice photo of 4 elephants out in the paddock- can someone please i/d them for me please?

White Jackdaw- blue eyes and pink legs- same combination as the Bristol Aviary bird I mentioned above. = Albino or Leucistic?

Small Update from 30.6.10

Finally got to see the duiker! :D She had access to the indoor Okapi area for most of today. Got some (very bad!) pics and will put my "best" one up later.

Sithami is still keeping everyone waiting for the herd's newest addition!

Only one of the tapir pair visable (checked house and paddock) may of just been of show or could one of left the collection?

Sammy (Black Rhino) out in the paddock with Kitani.

Work being done inside the elephant house involving a couple of mini diggers. Think they are adding sand to the floors as has been done in the outdoor paddock.

Ask any questions :)

You know what you guys are, fantastic! I will be visiting soon and once again, I will be the last to see the Duiker!

Aswell SMR, Me and my friends say innit from time to time, mainly as a joke though! :D

It was the "there's a funny-looking monkey" type of comment that we were debating whether people still said, not so much the exact choice of words. ;)

One correction/update to the red-billed blue magpie situation; there were four but the parents weren't coping well with that number. The smallest didn't make it, but the third was removed and is being hand-reared. Reports suggest it is doing fine.
