Blackpool Zoo Visit 18th July 2010

A few bits of info from today, the Aardvark now have a outdoor area with areas for them to dig around in. Though today they decided to stay indoors huddled together under the heatlamp something given the weather I wished I could have done.
The Gorilla baby was outside for some of the day with Maliki she looks to be progressing really well and was later enjoying playing in the hay indoors. Also managed to see the Pilated Gibbon baby who was difficult to spot at times being quite small and the same colour as the female. Some work is being done in the Small Monkey house the indoor enclosure for the King Colobus and Squirrel Monkeys is being renovated and a " Mod-Rock" tree being contructed for them to climb. The Zoo now have a Wallaby walkthrough next to the Mountain Gazelle. Still no sign of a female Tiger Zambar came quite close to the glass today my word he is one very big Tiger!

Was the father Bukavu still in with the group?
You mean he has it from the mother some of the time?

Yes twice yesterday I saw him take the baby for a few seconds before passing it back to Maliki.
