I noticed that we don't have a thread on this growing collection so I thought I would start one. A couple of notes from today firstly Suzie the 23 year old Burmese Python has recently died. Her exibit is currently empty although they are hoping to aquire another one soon. Both Toucans have now also died. The exibit is again empty and under going refurbishment for a new species according to a sign on the window. They now have 2:0 Red handed Tamrins from Druallis Zoo in Sussex. Once the exibit is completed for them they will be moved to Reaseheath College. This should happen sometime towards the end of this year. They are currently sharing an exibit with Pied Tamrins in the Zoo Room. I will add pics shortly. Ask any questions. :)

3 Black Throated Monitors have arrived after being seized at Heathrow. They are being kept in the old Burmese Python exibit.

The old toucan aviary is still awaiting refurbishment. No updates on what it will house yet.

Tamarins
The Pied Tamarins in the Zoo Room have now departed. No idea where they went although Reaseheath College down the road has recently got some so maybe the same group?. The 2:0 Red Handed Tamarin in the same exibit will be moved to Reaseheath in the next couple of weeks.

The once impressive mob of Cotton Top Tamarins is now down to just three individuals.

Oscar the African Grey Parrot (normally by the main entrance) was re-housed with a member of staff recently.

Now only one of the two Blue and Gold Macaw left. Don't know if the other died or has left but would be suprised if they were split up.

One of the three Ringed Teal died recently. Just two left now

The Coati's haven't left yet.

Some of the meerkat's have recently gone to Belfast Zoo but there's still quite a few left.

Ask any questions. Will put photo's up in a bit

Errrm no they haven't, I think someone gave you incorrect information, I can assure you 100% Belfast has not received any meerkats from any collections in well over 12 months

I must of mis-heard then. Sorry about that
