The best exhibits for certin animals

Many threads have been started on what's the best enclosure for many different animals so I thought I would combine it all into one. What are the best enclosures for these types of animals
-hippo
-gibbon
- Asian hoof stock
- giraffe
-tapir
-and red panda:)
 
For the giraffe maybe Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. It doesnt offer a ton of space for the giraffes, but its a good exhibit with a HUGE herd of them.

For the hippo, I think maybe the St. Louis Zoo. It has a very large exhibit with underwater viewing and I think 4 hippos.

As for the red panda, I beileve the National Zoo takes the cake. The red panda have a large, heavly planted enclosure on Asia Trail.

Hippos-Werribee Open Range Zoo
Gibbon-Melbourne Zoo
 
i think disney is the best because it has a proper 'pod'of hippos and the enclosure(s) are just great in my opinon. after that tho i must admit nowon else comes close to disneys and Werribee
 
It would be interesting if people would add some info why they believe these are the best exhibits, and perhaps also a picture?
 
To revive my old thread i have picked several new animals:
orangutan- omaha
jaguar- woodland park
otter- baltimore
chimpanzee- houston
warm water penguins(humboult, african...)- bronx sea bird aviary
and snow leopard- central park
what do u think is the best?
 
Best is such a subjective term. What is best? the largest? the most natural?. The Hippo's at D.A.K make a great exhibit because of the size of the group. It's a nice sized enclosure and it also connected via a hidden barn to a seperate enclosure of the walking trail with underwater viewing. So from the pictures the Werribee has a beautiuflly constructed enclosure. What would you prefer a large group of hippo's closer to the natural group structure (D.A.K). An enclosure that has a pair or trio but has crystal clear water (and full of cichlids normally) (SDZ) or an enclosure for a few hippo's but is absolutley huge. In an ideal world it would be an enclosure that was huge with a herd of hippos swimming in crystal clear water!. However you would'nt be able to see so far. My point is that different members on the forum prefer animals to be exhibited in different ways. Best is an opnion. It's obvious which enclosures are good, bad and avergae. But which is the best? Well I'm sure your answer will be different to mine and it can be an interesting disscussion, but will be an open discussion not one that creates answers?
