Football (Soccer) Teams

THis has mainly turned into a Stoke City FC thread now... ;)

Sidibie in my opinion doesn't warrant his place in the team despite the 'work' he does... We have better strikers in Cresswell and now Gallagher. I wouldn't be too disappointed to see him leave in the summer.

Only because no else wants to write about their team.

I agree with your comments re Sidibe.

My freind supports Bromsgrove with West Brom as his second team. I've told him the two promoted teams will be Stoke and West Brom. Then Stoke are guaranteed 6 Premiership points. I bet there are fans living who have never seen Stoke lose to West Brom in the league. Actually they were the first team I saw play at Stoke, back in 1967. It was 0-0.

I've just been to see Stoke City Football Club's victory parade.

The first of many.

As a Glasgow rangers fan does anyone have a spare ticket for the UEFA cup final next week, i don't have the £1000.00 they are going for on ebay.
P.S anyone got a spare room in Manchester?

Hope you enjoyed the atmosphere at the Brit tonight, I was sat in the Seddon stand and I was amazed at the noise being made. Although nothing compares to last Sunday;)

Isn't there a beamback at Ibrox? (well at least I thought I saw it on Sky Sports News...)

I know it isn't the same as being at the City of Manchester, but at least you could hopefully share the joy with other fans

That is my second option, i hope the authorities in Manchester get their act together and provide a fan zone with big screens, they reckon between 100'000 and 150'000 coming down for the game!

Chester City finished 22 out of 24. From being 2nd at the end of November. Thankfully only the bottom 2 teams were relegated. We finished the season with 3 consecutive 0 all draws. Well done to Stoke. There is hope for us all !

Chester are a strange entity the lastfew season starting really well then they just go into freefall around and after christmas!

Reminds me that I need to get down there and see a few games next season

I have a feeling they will be the next derby county! The whipping boys of the premiership.

I hope they prove me wrong!

I think they will, Mr Coates promised promotion within two years, and he has achieved that. I hope he knows what he is doing.

We'll have to wait and see how next season goes, 17th place will do.

Manchester United and Arsenal both lost on their last visits to Stoke, although the week after beating Man U 3-1 Stoke lost 4-0 at Rhyl.

Chester are my second favourite team. I hope they do better next season.

I Support Arsenal, But i have a soft spot for Stoke and Liverpool, Hope they do well:cool:

Arsenal!!!!!!!

I just realised in the first post I made a mistake. I meant to say:

"I support Stoke City, but I have an attachment to Liverpool"

not the other way around... :p

That's cleard up a mystery Jimmy. I was wondering why a Liverpool suppoert would go to every Stoke home game.

Did you go to the Gordon Banks match. I went to his testimonial in December 1973. It was a rotten night, it rained incessantly and it was bitterly cold. Stoke were defeated 2-1 by Manchester United, and the Stoke side included Bobby Charlton and Eusabio.

I only noticed the mistake after the thread was bumped!

I did go the Banks match only to see Banks and Pele appear. The match was, frankly, awful. A bunch of Z-list celebrities interspersed with the odd footballer (Mike Pejic and Mark Stein included). His testimonial sounded far, far better!

When reading my forecast please remember I support Chester City.

So what do I know !

Top 4 - 1st Chelsea, 2nd Man U, 3rd Liverpool and 4th Arsenal.

Bottom - just surviving Fulham, regulated West Brom, Hull and bottom Stoke (sorry).

The main challengers to the Top 4 seem to be selling rather than buying.

By the way I administrate a (small) Fantasy Football Super League.

We play under the Daily Telegraph newspaper rules (they charge £6).

Chester have had a really rough time, since the American bought them, things have slightly improved under Vaughan.

We play under the Telegraphy at work and pay an additional charge to have MOTM award and about £150 for the person who tops the league

I also like soccer, and I'm a fan of the Los Angeles Galaxy and I sometimes support Chivas USA, which is the second team from Los Angeles. Being from America it's hard being a soccer fan because of all the other major sports, but I still sometimes attend the home games for both teams.

I used to have FIFA 07 for xbox 360 and when playing I would always choose Arsenal so I guess I kind of like that team, even though I've never seen any of their games on TV or anything.

Pro Evo is the best football game out there by a mile!! Arsenal are ok if you want to watch aload of fancy player play but lose and cry because they dont like the physical game :p
