Hi All,
The 4 Tiger Cubs Born Last Year 2 Have Moved And One Was Put Down Is Aryo Leaving Soon If So Where? Is Banda Also Leaving And Where Too?
Are Their Plan's To Breed The Asiatic Lion's Mwandu And Indu Because When I Visited The Other Month They Was Keeping Completely Away From Each Other.
Finally, How Are Manyara And The Female Getting On Forgot Her Name Apologises And Has The Male Been Introduced To Zuri The Young Female?
Regards Jordan.

Tigers:

The male cub and his mother Banda will eventually be leaving. A new breeding female will be brought in for Tenang.

Lions:

They are part of the breeding programme, however the lions don't seem to want to play their part! Personally, I think one needs to be moved, and a new individual brought in (pref the male!)

Rhinos:

The new bull has been brought in for the mother, as her daughter is not yet old enough to become pregnant, possibly in a year of two.

Jordan please stop using uppercase letters at the start of every word, it give the reader a headache.

How long ago were you at the zoo? At the start of last month Mwandu and Indu were happily doing nothing together as is the norm. There is little hope of them having more cubs. They are now just like a married couple. She is grumpy and uninterested, he's just given up all hope of getting anywhere.

I would imagine they are looking for a place for Banda to retire too now. As for the little terror, I would guess it'll be a few months and he'll go somewhere. The biggest problem I think is Banda has relations in many collections across the UK and Europe. Thankfully Tenang is only related to the cubs he has sired.

As for the Sita and Zuri being introduced to Manyara, nothing was happening when we've been their. It must be time for Zuri to be moved to another collection.

Doubtful they would move Zuri, as she is unrelated to the new male, and will be an ideal second breeding female for the zoo.

I would imagine that is a possibility. It would be nice to see another Paignton female at Chester, alongside Asha and the female tiger from Banda's previous litter. Can't remember the not so little horrors name.

The Chester tiger enclosure is just about big enough for their own 1.1

Kirana is the name of the tigress at Chester (Banda's 1st cub)

Paul, there is not the room at Paignton to have both Sita and Zuri breeding. I think it has already mentioned Zuri will be moving on. As will Tonda the young male giraffe in February.

Thanks for the name of the female ball of horror. I hope she takes after her mother in more than just temperament.

Manyara and Sita were certainly interested in each other back in July when they were first introduced. They will only be mixed when she is in season and I haven't seen them together again since then. Zuri is too young to breed and is still very attached to her mother.

Affirmative on not sufficient space in the current black rhino habitat.
Not sure if and when Zuri might leave Paignton ...

I imagine if Zuri leaves it will be to go to Port Lympne as they normally claim back the firstborn female produced from any breeding exchanges they are involved in.(her father 'Kingo' was loaned to Paignton). There are other unrelated bulls there she could be bred with e.g. Quinto.

I would like to see her remain at Paignton as a second breeding female (their new bull isn't related to her) but its correct their space is limited, both inside and out, especially if both females were to have calves at the same time.

There has been failed breeding this year. The female will only show any interest in mating when she's in heat, so for about 27 days out of every thirty she's going to be disinterested anyway.

I have seen 2 adult White Rhinos and 1 adult Black Rhino, being housed in the House on the 27/12/2004 while they were in the process of changing over the species, they do have a bit more room than people think with this house, admittedily the space isn`t great but they can keep and work with 3 Adult Rhinos in the house at the same time.

I sincerely hope that after the passing of the last elephant their quarters can somehow be adapted to black rhinos.
