Taronga Zoo Bethyl the bear turns 34

I hope not... Although Asia is a great place, but due to our import laws we can't get anything interesting from it :(

Taronga still has Asian species that are not exhibited in Wild Asia such as sun bears, sumatran tigers, red panda (sort of), himalayan tahr and dhole.

Yeah, I think the expansion of Wild Asia down that way would be great, they have got quite a few Asian animals leftover so to speak, and would be ideal to have them all together.

The other species to include here would be orangs and gibbons, and some reptiles (komodos, etc).

But this is all rampant speculation, and would be nice to have input from someone who actually knows.

The only other gibbon not exhibited in Wild Asia is Mary who is very old and loves living on her island, so I dont think Mary will be moving any time soon.
