North Carolina Zoo North Carolina Zoo News

Team Tapir, what day were you at NC Zoo? I was there on this past Friday (6/10). I was really impressed with the zoo but it was really hot and without a map I had to do a lot of back-tracking to make sure that I saw everything.

We were there on Saturday so we just missed ya.We also found ourselves doing a bit of backtracking at times and dumping water bottles on our heads heads as it was a scorcher.Despite the heat we were a bit surprised that a lot of animals were active.Another thing we really like at NC was excellent signage.

An article saying zoo board is calling for addition of an Asia section and a hotel (overlooking exhibits, perhaps in the vein of Animal Kingdom Lodge?). If they accomplish both of these tasks, I think I would make my first trip out there and stay overnight.

Time seems right for expanding N.C. Zoo | CharlotteObserver.com & The Charlotte Observer Newspaper

I've said it before and I'll say it again, but if North Carolina Zoo really does go ahead and build a top-quality $100 million Asian section then the zoo could realistically be considered a strong contender as the #1 zoo in North America. I'm a huge fan and I think that at the moment it is unquestionably one of my 10 favorite zoos as practically everything there is brilliant.

Update on the new Polar Bear exhibit

another good video bout the zoo around fall time
