The rule doesn't ban free contact of elephants in AZA zoos
Elephant rides, weren't safe 4,000 years ago. And are not safe today.
Nothing is 100% safe, even crossing the road at a crossing just ask anybody that has been knocked over by a car jumping a red light!!!So taking that in to account elephant keepers can still get injured or killed even in protected contact, just because it hasn't happened doesn't mean it will not in the future!I'm choosing to work with elephants because I have had a passion for elephants since I was very small. It was not me choosing randomly out of the animal kingdom. It's a fact, protected contact is safer than free.
