Happy Birthday to Writhed Hornbill

leech socks take care of the little brown terrestrial leeches just fine (DEET on the boots gives additional help!). The ones you need to take extra care about are the tiger leeches which wait in the bushes and drop onto you from above. They don't have an anaesthetic to go with their bite like the terrestrial leeches do, so they're pretty nasty critters. Best thing is to just keep in mind that they're actually harmless apart for a little blood loss. The mosquitoes, ticks, etc are the real worry.....

Happy birthday, for your info my name is jonathan as well, Jonathan Yun-Xian law.

We share somethin happy b'day once again

Yes we are going to danum valley!

My dad has been telling me all about the leech socks, so he'll be pleased to know about the giant ones!

I haven't got the mammal book yet, but I've got the bird and Reptile ones (I also got a book very similar to the reptile one about reptiles of Singapore and Peninsular malaysia)

I have had a very bad leech experince i was hiking in a region called the mount dandenongs and i had so many leechs on my legs and arms! I've also gone to singapore zoo, family there!

I've only had one leech in all my years of swimming in the goulbourn.

I couldn't feel it and by the time i got out and my friend saw it on my back it was huge. I burnt it off with a lighter

My were medium size worm like ones not so much like slugs. We got them of with cigarette burns.

Mine had a sucker at each end and it was so full that the middle part was hanging down. In a "U" shape
