As has been the case for about a week now. I think we'll find the answer to whether that has or hasn't happened pretty easily.
Huh? Parys is in Prague to breed, his littermate Pentagon (house name Max) is now in Bojnice, pretty much as a genetic reserve (hard to call asian lion a surplus) as he wasn't assertive enough during mating thus lioness couldn't conceive - on the contrary Parys is now a proven breeder. Finger crossed.
Thanks - we didn't know which male had moved, and indeed where they had moved to.

London zoo have confirmed they have had cubs.
They are now sexed as 0:2 according to ISIS

Asian lions will be arriving at Les parc des felines.
Are there not regulations in place that do not allow single collections to hold both African and Asian lions in the same location?

There are indeed and are not likely to be changing anytime soon,atleast that was the view I got from the EEP studbook holder last time I was talking to him about Asian Lions.
What was your source? (just out of interest)

New blood for the European breeding programme
The Nehru Zoological Park, in Hyderabad, India is sending a pair of Asian lion along with 5 female gharial to the Dvur Kralove zoo in the Czech republic.
This is in exchange for 2.2 cheetah.
Looks as though the animals will arrive in February sometime.

Yes but going to a zoo that is nolonger in EAZA,so they may not work with the EEP,so if this move happens it may not be sucha good move!

Gir the lioness at the Cotswold Wildlife Park (ex Dudley) died in October aged 17 years old.
