Lakeland Wildlife Oasis Update

Tara the snow leopard has been loaded and is on her way.

Have you got extra information on this or are you just using the date above as your guide because as we know dates often change?

Either way can't wait to get myself down there and see the pair and hopefully some little cubs will be on the way soon!

So doesn't Amazon World on the Isle of Wight count as part of the United Kingdom, now as they still have a small group, and also I know of 2 or 3 private keepers that keep and bred this species in the UK!

Isador, the male lowland paca who arrived at the park a couple of weeks ago from Amazon World, died on Sunday 25th May from stomach complications.

0.0.2 Snow Leopard born 25th May, A first successful breeding for the collection

I'm a keeper here. The Snow Leopard cubs are doing really well, I have quite a few photos of them but yet to work out how to use this forum properly! They're venturing out more and more everyday although they much prefer coming out just before and just after the public arrive - they are amazing at timing it! The climbing salamander is very elusive - usually hidden under one of it's logs!

We have a new reptile enclosure, we also acquired a Tegu last week that has access to our waterfall exhibit through out the day. Our aviary has just been demolished, we are yet to decide what is going in its place. Our black and white Lemurs are moving to another collection in autumn and the Ibis will be going to another collection in the next few weeks which means we have a whole new space to knock down and start over with also! Lots of exciting things happening over the next year hopefully!
