Dudley Zoological Gardens Dudley Zoological Gardens in 2011

It does pose another obvious question, assuming two different types of tigers are to be on show, where will they be housed?

Bear Ravine maybe?

I'm, guessing that they'll both be housed in the tiger enclosure, simply because they're two of the most obviously different subspecies and both female. There's bound to be some graphics pointing out the differences between Amur and Sumatrans, if not then Dudley have definitely missed a trick...

The Tigers will be housed together in the current Tiger pit. They are an Amur and a Sumatran female who have been handreared together at Wuppertal after being rejected by their mothers. (Daseep was born at Frankfurt to Malea and Iban) Eventually the Amur female will move elsewhere and a Sumatran male will join Daseep Internet | Tschuna´s Blog

Yep ... that is the story. Good for socialisation.
When more mature set up a breeding pair!

Some small news from my annual birthday visit today, snow leopards still not together, saw the howler monkeys for the first time, ditto the love birds.
Work being carried out on the side of the tiger enclosure (lynx side), I'm guessing they are putting in some kind of ground level public viewing.
One saw 2 of the 4 capybara babies, hope the others are ok and in the other hut......

Amur Tiger, Tschuna (due in from Wuppertal shortly with Daseep) will eventually be transfered to Whipsnade (confirmed in the Tiger blog, post from 4th Jan)
