Puan from Perth (Orangutan)

.
Were any of Puan's Offspring sent to other places in Australia?
If so, where?
And what ever happened to Atjeh(Before he died)?

Three(?) went at different times to Adelaide. See above.

Atjeh died at Perth. His climbing frame fell down and injured/killed him I believe.

My 1980 studbook lists Binte and Mawas as Sumatran but evidently that is incorrect, they were Bornean. It seems the surviving hybrids produced all went to Indian zoos. The hybrid male 'Bobby' also fathered the hybrid twins;Kembar 01652X & Kiani 01653X (three quarters Sumatran, one quarter Bornean) at Melbourne during his time there.

That is why the Atjeh/Puan line became predominant at Perth, as it was the only pure one.

Sorry to bring up an older thread but where were Pusung's offspring born (Singapore?) and does he have any grandchildren?

Just to correct/confirm a few details:
Atjeh wasn't killed with reference to the climbing frame. He sustained an injury as a result of piece of the timber frame breaking. Unfortunately this injury never healed, despite treatment.
Mawas did breed and produce young, but never raised any herself. She became more of an aunt in later life for young individuals after they had left mum. Puluh was the last of these before he was sent to Chester. She was a pure Bornean, and the oldest captive orang while alive.
Puan has been productive at Perth, but the reason she hasn't had more grand-children has been due to a controlled program at Perth to restrict how many infants were born (as a result of the long lifespan of the species). Most of her offspring have stayed at Perth and there is limited space to increase numbers, thus the releases of captive-born animals in Sumatra of late.
