Worth watching for the Boelen's python (53 seconds in) ;)

Alan

AND some good camera time for Partula mirabilis. Nice to see.

(and, indeed, for a rare glimpse of Chester's Partula room - even if it's pretty much the same as Bristol and London's!)

Think I glimpsed a mountain chicken at some point last night as well - all in all a very good piece :p

Having seen neither of those, I shan't complain ;)

Anybody know when the Tiger Enclosure will be reopened thus allowing me the chance of seeing the cubs?

Oh, and is the Aardvark on show? My wife really, really, really wants to see it and I'd hate to take her only to discover it's in quarantine!

Aren't there 2 aardvarks? Brothers from Colchester?

Do they quarantine animals tha come from darn sarf?

I'm pretty sure it would just be 'ock'.

It's definitely Oh Cue :)

This pains me deeply. Because why would it be written 'Oq' in that case (as I have seen it written by both zoos in question)? Why isn't it 'O.Q.'? Why, dammit?! :D

Oh, well - I guess it was named in Essex...

(For the avoidance of doubt, that was a JOKE! :p )

(mostly... :D )

Later Zoochat will attempt to agree on the pronunciation of the female Red Panda...

;)

But seriously, great day in the zoo today... First sighting of Pele and Sophia together for us. An excellent opportunity to see such contrasting colours.

Also we spotted an interesting moment where Iblis had Kiburi cornered at the bottom of the lion enclosure, stopping her from rejoining Kumari. Eventually he moved off to the lion house end and both girls had a rather cute moment, ending with Kiburi flopping on to her back playfully.

News wise, for us at least, it was a quiet one, there was a lot of noise from the elephants at one point, the capybara were spotted attempting to mate, it was a 3 out 4 Jag day and a 4 out of 11 mountain chicken day.
