The article is slightly misleading, insofar as much as the Cuscus have actually been on-show for a fortnight already - as my photograph in the gallery demonstrates ;)
 
Well that will stop the Rockhoppers poo-ing on the Panda queue!!

I wonder what they will put in the rockhopper enclosure (Empty at the moment as they are all in the big penguin pool.

I understand one of the issues with the sealion pool as far as filtration is concerned is the fact that sealion poo is solid - penguin poo less so, so perhaps the reed filtration will be more efficient.
 
The rockhopper pool is also kept for gentoo penguins after they have fledged to stop them pestering their parents for fish and to teach them too take fish from the keepers. I would love to see another penguin species arrive.
 
Quick question did somebody mention that Edinburgh Zoo was holding 2 female Banteng in the Camel House ,or have I imagined that somebody has said this,if I have I think I'm going mad and may need to lie down in a darkened room!!

I think one animal was certainly mentioned, i think it was JJ that saw it.
 
Right thanks for that glad I'm not going mad,don't be surprised if they leave very soon if what I've heard is right!
 
A bit of news (Un-official from the zoo, but it was from last nights talk, a friend told me):

A female jaguar has arrived (No details) and the margays are going/are on-show.
 
The female jaguar is from Krefeld Zoo, Germany, I think she was born there in 2010.
 
The parents are Progy and Bess, and their offspring born in August 2010 are Rica and Ruben. Ruben is still in Krefeld, Rica now in Edinburgh.

The old pallas's cat/binturong enclosure is getting a sturdier roof put on it at the moment!
