What's your favourite species at your local zoo

Favourite Species

I have to say that my favourite zoo is Blackpool. I have had a membership with them since around 2010.
My favourtie species are:
Californian Sea Lion
Red Panda
Amur Tiger
Indian Elephant

They make me amazed by the things they do!

my local wildlife park is ywp at docaster my must sees are

lions
tigers
oh i carnt decide all of them lol i just love this place carnt wait for the leopards

great choice Zambar is awesome :)

Chester for me

Cheetahs and Jaguars

I miss the Babirusa :(

You can sometimes spot the male babirusa from the cheetah bridge over Flag Lane, he is in the off-show paddock next to the monorail shed (take binoculars ;)). I hope they will all be back on-show soon.

I find naming my favourites at Chester almost as hard as karoocheetah does :D because they tend to change with each visit.
Recent favourites include - Iznee & Latifah (young Bornean orangs), the tuataras, the lion-tailed macaques, the golden-headed lion tamarins, the white-backed ducks and the giant otters. On my last visit it was the Boelen's pythons and on the next one I hope it will be Potamotrygon leopoldi - the fantastically beautiful stingrays which are due to arrive soon in Spirit of the Jaguar.
I still miss the greater vasa parrots and the range of smaller parrots in the round aviaries beside the old Bird House (blue-throated conures, Stella's lorikeets etc).

That´s almost impossible to answer!
Ok.. I´ll try to pick three...

Dublin Zoo
Snow Leopards
Wolves
African Hunting Dogs

SeaLife Bray
Leopard Shark
Common Stingray
Giant Pacific Octopus

I don't have a proper home zoo, but the nearest collection to me would be Ponderosa, which is more of a large farm which has expanded onto exotics (which includes a tapir, raccoon dogs, lemurs and a number of reptiles, plus a lot more). There's also Tropical World nearby, and a few bird gardens (including Harewood House, which I haven't had the joy of visiting yet). Doncaster's Yorkshire Wildlife Park is probably my nearest 'major' collection.

Ponderosa:
Favourites:
South American tapir
Ring-tailed lemur
Llama

Missed:
Emu
Red-necked wallaby
South European waterbuffalo

Tropical World:
Favourites:
Pacu
Morelet's crocodile
Egyptian fruit bat
Pygmy slow loris

Yorkshire Wildlife Park:
Favourites:
The lions
Amur tigers
and the Squirrel Monkeys

bird gardens (including Harewood House, which I haven't had the joy of visiting yet)

With the collection being reduced a visit may not be as joyful as before. One of my favourite species there is the Green-winged Macaw, but these birds are on the disposal list :(.

For me at the Philadelphia Zoo:

White-handed Gibbons - Mercury, Phoenice, and baby Leo, esp. Mercury.
Lucha - the 7 mo. old Jaguar cub
Southern White-faced owl - so-called 'transformer' owl
Red Panda - Mei Lin
Giant River Otters
Micronesian Kingfisher
and a very cheeky Ivory-billed Araçari in the free-fly aviary.

More than just 2-3, but I try to see all of these every time I go, even if I don't have time for anything else.
