There are definately more animals, but here is my list.
Japanese Mountain Hawk Eagle (Only at L.A. Zoo)
Jentink's Duiker (Only at Gladys Porter Zoo)
Chacoan Peccary
Pronghorn
Rabb's Fringe-Limbed Treefrog (Only at Atlanta Zoo)
Sumatran Rhinoceros (Not counting Sumatran Rhino Sanctuary because they're not on public display)
Great White Shark (Sometimes at M.B. Aquarium)
Northern Elephant Seal (Found sometimes at Marine Mammal Center or SF Zoo)
American Marten
List any more species you know!:)

California Condor (San Diego - both parks, Santa Barbara)
Whooping Crane (San Antonio)

If I'm understanding this thread correctly, it is animals that can only be found in US Zoos, as opposed to foreign zoos. California Condors can be found at the Mexico City Zoo and Whooping cranes can be found at the Calgary Zoo, both of which are outside of the US.

Pronghorn can be found at Assiniboine Park Zoo in Winnipeg, Canada.

I've read it as animals ONLY found in the USA zoos and not in any other countries.

Assuming this animal is still on display at the Lok Kawi Wildlife Park, then a http://www.zoochat.com/651/sumatran-rhino-108125/ is on display in Indonesia.

This claim would be much more accurate with endemic species from the U.S. For example, Houston toads and attwater´s prarie chickens which can be seen at the Houston zoo, though the birds mentioned are not always on exhibit.

I'd be willing to place big bets on Japanese mountain hawk eagles being kept in Japanese zoos...

the Lok Kawi rhino is no longer there (and to be pedantic, Lok Kawi is in Malaysian Borneo not Indonesia) but the Malacca Zoo in Peninsular Malaysia sometimes has them. And for BeardsleyZooFan, the facility at Way Kambas in Sumatra is available for public viewing, so those can still count anyway.

There are some Chacoan Peccaries in Argentina (Saenz Peña Zoo for sure, but there might be another zoo that also keeps that specie) and I think that the Asunción Zoo and Botanical Gardens (Jardín Botánico y Zoológico de Asunción) in Paraguay has some specimens.

Sorry for all the false information:o. I trusted ISIS for most of this and some stuff I heard on ZooChat. Again, sorry for getting my facts wrong.

You have no reason to be sorry for getting things wrong, many of us in the past have trusted ISIS,but although it is a very good site it does have a number of problems the biggest one for what you are trying to do with this thread is that many collections around the world have nothing to do with ISIS.We all make mistake its how we learn in life,so don't let it bother you that you got a few things wrong in this thread.

Thank you for the advice. I just feel guilty a lot over things I probably shouldn't feel real guilty about.

No apology necessary. It's a great thread idea. I've enjoyed double checking your list, it's been fun to think about. Another factor about ISIS is that new software is being rolled out (called ZIMS) so ISIS is no longer being updated.

I was thinking that too, but had yet to find evidence for it.

Sorry I had originally meant to write Sabah, but then something happened and I confused myself.

How about Peninsular pronghorn?
As well as royal antelope?

Peninsular pronghorn is a possibility but the breeding program is an international effort, so there may be some in Mexico.

Royal antelope is a possibility, anyone know if there are any in African zoos?

For the most part I think it is pretty much only going to be animals endemic to the United States and some amphibians that have been rescued from near extinction.

Kihansi Spray Toad
possibly some Costa Rican/Panamanian amphibians?
Hawaiian birds (Hawaiian hawk, owl, etc.)

Island Foxes from California Channel Islands
California Mountain Yellow and Red-Legged Frogs
Houston Toad

Maybe it should be posed as species only on exhibit in the US outside their native range?

There are 2 peninsular pronghorn at san juan de aragon zoo in mexico city, but they have not bred here. They have bred very well at the LA zoo which is actually much closer to their natural range than mexico city.
