1 isn't Victoria, but 6 is exactly that - the encontro das aguas or meeting of the waters in Brazil.

4. The towers remind me of those in Venice, so it is somewhere in Italy, maybe Tuscany, so I'll say Florence

You're absolutely right. That means the only photo which hasn't been identified yet is number 3.

Ok the mural on the wall on the right in photo 3 looks like minarets facing each other, so I am thinking Hagia Sofia and the Blue Mosque therefore, it must be Istanbul, Turkey!

Should I take a bow?

Haha, not quite yet; your initial guess was actually a bit closer. The stairs themselves are probably the most famous feature of this photo.

@ nanoboy: I've tried to use photos with clues; the mural was of Rio, and the words "Escadaria Selarón" and "Rio de Janeiro" are written on the steps (but I've tried to use a low-enough quality image to make it a bit harder to read). You may also be interested to know that this is where the music video for 'Beautiful' by Snoop Dogg ft. Pharell was filmed, which has also raised its profile.
