Interesting article on the progress that the US Fish and Wildlife Service is making on deciding if hundreds of species should be on the list or not. Trouble is predicted in the decisions on some lizard and sagegrouse species that live in the oil lands of Texas.

The article mentions that 40% of the wolf population in Idaho was just hunted out under the states's control of its wolf population. Has anybody been following that story?

No, I can't say I have because the outcomes are predictable.

The Chinese fit the stereotype of "if it has a heartbeat, we'll eat it", but Americans are not too far off. Your stereotype, however, is that "if it can't vote, then it isn't worth saving".
