A 250+ pound baby girl is coming to St. Louis spring of 2013! Ellie the Asian elephant is pregnant. Raja, of course, is the proud papa. We're excited to meet the newest member of our herd!
Well wishes for a healthy baby!!

I am heading out on Wednesday and maybe on Thursday to the zoo and was wondering if anyone could give me some tips for the visit or if there are also any photo requests anyone has.
Some photos of Sea Lion Sound would be great. Thanks and have a good time.If you get there early enough you could park on the street in front of the zoo for free.

Thanks for the tip. What would you say is the hotspot of the zoo? To me is seems that Rivers Edge is the best area.
Over 315 photos are coming now from the #1 zoo in America!!
Why is it the #1 in America?
Just going off of what it says on their maps. Plus it deserves a top 5 spot I think.
From my unbiased opinion (having zero personnel experience with any US zoo) it definitely seems impressive but I just thought it was odd they would advertise themselves in such a way. I can't wait for your photos btw.![]()
Thank you very much. I think after what you see (a photo of almost every exhibit) you won't even have to visit.
Like Rhino Reserve, Lords of the Forest (Arctic), the first section of the insectarium is called "What is an Insect?", Fragile Forest, but I could care less really.QUOTE]
Or did other zoos copy Saint Louis?
Honestly though, as long as someone doesn't name a new exhibit something really well known, like Congo Gorilla Forest, Arctic Ring of Life, or Pangani Forest Expedition Trail, it doesn't really matter. I have seen a good amount of exhibits that have the same name as others.
