Oh I'd forgotten I saw Bryde's whale from Auckland, that's what happens when you don't keep a list.
Ohhh any photos?

I took one of the Auckland whale trips a couple of months ago and I sighted not a single cetacean![]()
I agree nice list! But I too am surprised that if you live in New Zealand that you don't do some of the great Whale/Dolphin watches available to your country. I was able to see Hector's Dolphins one day and Dusky Dolphins and Sperm Whales a second day (both off the south island). These are species I never thought I'd see, and probably never would unless I was in New Zealand (specially the Hectors!).
zooboy28 has an aversion to seeing animals in the wild
Seriously, a whale trip from Auckland should get him Bryde's whale at the very least.
never say never. You saw a kakapo in one!Its not an aversion, I just like zoos. But obviously I'm never going to see a Bryde's Whale there.
I scanned through your list and found one big surprise, so you have to tell me where you saw it and if it's still there!! The pen-tailed tree-shrew (Ptilocercus lowii)!! I believe everything else on your list I've seen..not much in American Zoos that I haven't seen, I've made sure of that haha.
It was in the Small Mammal House of the National Zoo in Washington. I saw it back in 2010, so I don't know if they still have it. I have a photo of it that is much too terrible for ID purposes.
Does anybody know if any zoo has the recently discovered lesula monkey?

My website. It includes animals from the National Zoo's Small Mammal House but unfortunetly only Northern Tree Shrews. They did have the previously mentioned elephant shrews. It also contains the sought after Bronx Zoo species list (2011 list but I may be revisiting soon so I can update). It took me three visits to make that one. Enjoy!!I obviously still have the Central Park Zoo to finish and I haven't worked on the second site in a while.
PLOS ONE: Lesula: A New Species of Cercopithecus Monkey Endemic to the Democratic Republic of Congo and Implications for Conservation of Congo?s Central BasinHow recently discovered? Seems unlikely that a zoo would have a recently discovered species!
Nice website! I'm guessing KCZooFan probably saw Northern Tree Shrews. I haven't been able to find anything on Pen-tailed Tree Shrew's being at the National Zoo. Eventually I'll get around to calling and asking, but as of now I'm going with Northern Tree Shrews.
Also I happen to notice something mislabeled in the Bronx Zoo part of your website, ThylacineAlive. You have "Lesser Malay Chevrotain, Lesser Mouse-Deer Scientific Name: Tragulus Kanchil" listed and I'm pretty sure Bronx Zoo has always had "greater mouse-deer, greater Malay chevrotain or napu (Tragulus napu)" unless something has changed in the past year.
I wrote down what it said on the label at the zoo. The animals I saw were exhibited with the zoo's slow loris in Jungle World. Maybe it was mislabeled or something but I wrote down exactly what it said there. Maybe an expert on the zoo like AnaheimZoo can help us or maybe BeardsleyZooFan as he recently went there. Can anyone help?

For avoid an excessively long list
