The letter L, following the collapse of the coalition government, in 2013, Mr. Ed Milliband is elected to government with a landslide majority, accompanied by his brother David, the foreign secretary on an official visit to China, they are given as a gift a pair of young giant pandas to be homed at Regents Park, these pandas are better than Edinburgh's as they don't have a rent book in their luggage,
As ever this is very fun to read - I have a good idea as to some of the truths in amongst the satire, and I'm laughing at quite a lot of the rest. Tempted to throw a couple tongue-in-cheek predictions into the ring myself

I feel I have to point out the deliberate mistake in the latest predictions: the macaws that Harewood doesn't have are not Spix's, but they might be Lear's (if they had them in the first place).
I hope that is now clear to everybody
I now see that JR may have been trying to say the same thing. But he made it so complicated that I didn't understand it

have you heard anything about Living Coasts getting wrybills from one of the many breeders in Europe? They really need something to spice up their humdrum collection.zoogiraffe said:

This is my favourite post so far.

Meanwhile, they 'redevelop' a number of existing enclosures by adding giant blobs of modelling clay to them (sorry that's 'realistic' artificial rocks) and building new raised wooden walkways so that the public can better review the new 'rocks'.

Sounds pretty accurate for current (non)developments there.

I know I have thrown a few facts in!!!!But have also put one hell of alot of fiction in it as well.Agree. I think he has thrown some facts in among the fiction but its a devil finding them....

Sadly, it's probably the most accurate prediction so far! Ok so 47 probably an over estimate, but the collection must have decreased every year for at least 5 years. The chances of anything exciting happening seem remote-& i don't regard a new entrance, supposed redeveloped enclosures or even dinosaurs ( please NO!) as exciting in the slightest!Sounds pretty accurate for current (non)developments there.

Right now for collections M to R
Manorhouse Wildlife Park closes to the public after a dozen trees come down in a storm.
Martin Mere WWT adds an Ibis Aviary to the collection keeping Straw-necked Ibis and Black-crowned Night Heron.
Marwell Zoo the Sulwesi Crested Macaques leave the collection to be replaced by 1 of the 2 groups of Bonobo,from Twycross when they have yet another clear out of species to try and save more money.Plans for new entrance are annouced and 3 new species of hoofstock arrive.
Matlock Bath Aquarium expands by 50% by opening 2 more tanks.
Monkey World Ape Rescue Centre adds the following species to the collection Lemuroid Ringtailed Possum,Waxy Monkey Frog,Tiger-legged Frog,Baboon Spider and Puerto Rican Crested Toad.
National Marine Aquarium displays the largest number of Octopus species ever seen in the UK.
National Seal Sanctuary recieve Eve the Hooded Seal from Skegness Natureland when she doubles in size,and they realsie that the pool is far to small for her and the Common Seals she shares it with.
Newquay Zoo have 2 male Pacarana arrive to see how they get on keeping them,after a long break they bred the Hoffmans Sloths.
Noahs Ark Zoo Farm re-apply to join BIAZA ,and get excepted as provisional members,4 female Asian Elephants arrive for the new Elephant House.Membership of BIAZA is revoked when the zoo fails its zoo inspection.
Paignton Zoo bring in some New Guinea Echidna,after the sad death of their last Short-beaked Echidna,Chesters Phillipine Crocodiles nest for the first time.
Paradise Wildlife Park add Sri Lankan Leopards to the collection.
Paultons Park aquires Yellow-billed Hornbill.
Rare Species Conservation Centre decides not to open to the public,but keep adding new species to the collection,and every now and again send some out to other collections round Europe.

For my own reasons I hope this a) is true and b) comes to pass before my visit, if the current one hops the perch before then
