Saiga and Marco Polo sheep for HWP, too good to be true, one out of the 2 would do me, either one.
I feel I have to point out the deliberate mistake in the latest predictions: the macaws that Harewood doesn't have are not Spix's, but they might be Lear's (if they had them in the first place).
I hope that is now clear to everybody
I now see that JR may have been trying to say the same thing. But he made it so complicated that I didn't understand it

Damn knew it didn't sound right while I was typing it will correct it!Preferably saiga, they just look more interesting
@Zoogiraffe - it is Lear's macaw that Harewood don't keep, not Spix's![]()

have you heard anything about Living Coasts getting wrybills from one of the many breeders in Europe? They really need something to spice up their humdrum collection.zoogiraffe said:Living Coasts have more Bank Cormorants arrive from a private collection in the UK,they also get a male Red-legged Kittiwake from the same place.To add the the gene pool of the Cormorants they also import more eggs from South Africa.Wonderpuss also return to the collection and surprise everyone by breeding.
Loving this thread, just trying to work out what is fact and what is fiction lol
This is my favourite post so far.Chester moves its entire animal collection off-show "to enhance our breeding programmes". Visitors pay £29.95 each to view animatronic elephants, animatronic dinosaurs and animatronic keepers, and lots of 'interesting' plants.
Visayan warty pig sausages actually. Specially imported. Best thing for them too....and Warthog sausage appear on the menu in the cafe!!
Marwell import red hartebeest from South Africa, keep them on a tiny corner of hardstand all year where no one can see them properly and then send them off to another zoo.
Sounds pretty accurate for current (non)developments there.![]()
I know I have thrown a few facts in!!!!But have also put one hell of alot of fiction in it as well.Agree. I think he has thrown some facts in among the fiction but its a devil finding them....![]()

Sadly, it's probably the most accurate prediction so far! Ok so 47 probably an over estimate, but the collection must have decreased every year for at least 5 years. The chances of anything exciting happening seem remote-& i don't regard a new entrance, supposed redeveloped enclosures or even dinosaurs ( please NO!) as exciting in the slightest!Sounds pretty accurate for current (non)developments there.![]()
Paignton Zoo bring in some New Guinea Echidna,after the sad death of their last Long-beaked Echidna,Chesters Phillipine Crocodiles nest for the first time.
