Has any zoo chatters been to Eden ostrich world in penrith(I'm sure I'm not the only one). eden ostrich world recently closed in 2011 after 13 years, but has been coverted into a caravan site(well done:rolleyes:)

according to zootierliste they kept the following species:belted galloway cow, grants zebra, bronze turkey, emu, meerkat, golden pheasant, gaunaco, collared peccary, llama, raccoon dog, greater rhea, northern raccoon, red deer, highland cow, soay sheep, ostrich, south african porcupine, white tufted eared marmoset.

so back to the original question, did any other zoo chatters go here?

I did visit a couple of times and can say, that I'm not sorry to have seen the place close as it made Noahs Ark Zoo Farm look world class!!

About eleven or so years ago a (Grant's ?) zebra x Shetland pony hybrid was born at Eden Ostrich World.

Does anybody know what happened to this hybrid after the place closed?

I'm not sure where it went, but I remember seeing it.

zoogiraffe-I also remember the sub-zoo being poor, the zebra, emu, ostrich exhibits were fine. The stand out worst exhibits were for meerkats and degus, i've even seen a picture on flickr of a dead tarantula still in a exhibit.

According to zootierliste there were some exotic species(peccary, raccoon, raccoon dog), which I don't remember. Does anybody know where these species went if there were even at the park in the first place. The raccoons may of gone to trotters world of animals, as they started displaying them near that time.
