Christmas? Bah humbug!

Total shame I missed out on the joy of pre Christmas complaining. I'm not a people person, I hate stupidity, boyfriend works retail, I used to work retail... this means I have lots of complaining to do about the holiday season but I shall save it for next year since it would seem somewhat out of place now. ;)

"On the fifth day of Newtonmas, my true love gave to me..."

Nothing.
We Newtonians don't give no stinkin' presents. Also, true loves are hard to come by this time of the millennium.

You can complain about after-Christmas stuff (like sales, silly presents that you wish the receipt was included so that you could return it), as well as new year celebrations. I try to be asleep by 11:58pm.

Well there was the other day when I had to go to Target to get cold medicine... our Target is located in a mall... and it was the 26th. I had to park ALL THE WAY in the back of the parking lot and deal with soooo many rude people in the store...ugh. Not fun. Next time I will go to a drug store and pay the higher prices!

You always have Christmas in July!:D

The fact that you actually watch Project Runway speaks volumes....

There's a huge difference in watching a show and knowing it exists. It's called commercials.

You think someone as busy as I am has time watch Project Runway (or maybe I'm so busy because I "watch" Project Runway:D).

Being a moderator I'm assuming you understand where that's all from.;)

What's that supposed to mean? Just because I'm a mod means I understand people? I think not.

It means because you're a mod you read the other threads;) The Nonsense Thread to be exact. The joke I'm using originated there and has been used all over on this thread since then.

I Australia, some people try to make Target sound posh by pronouncing it "tar-jhay" (in a French accent). :D I quite like Target. And yes, I hate not being able to find a parking space.

And on the topic of Christmas, we went berry picking yesterday but didn't actually get to pick any berries because of the massive queues at 4 different farms. The Aussies (and a few others) would understand this comment, but we thought we were on Christmas Island, (a babelfish would have been handy) so we left and went for a bush walk instead.

In addition to wallaberries and kangaberries :D, there are strawberries, boysenberries, raspberries, blackberries, and cherries. Well, so say their websites, because I never made it past the car park.

That almost sounds like Michigan but you're missing blueberries, elderberries, and currants mainly. Also we have the ever popular mooseberry and bearberry.

How much snow is there on the ground where you live? How much snow do you get in a year? The snow stays on the ground until about which month? How is this winter shaping up? What about the temperatures these days? (Weather interests me. :))

That sounds a lot like sarcasm but I have heard of people like crazier things(stamp collecting, competitive marching band, zoos, etc)so here is the information

Michigan Weather

Upper Peninsula: 11 inches, approx 50 inches, April(outside track practice starts once all the snow is off the track ;) ), Great Winter, It has been in the low teens or below for Fahrenheit as usual

West Michigan: 1 inch, 75 inches (melts really quick than snows again.), beginning of March, good winter so far, has been in mid 20's

Cheers for that. So, do you think that this winter is warmer or colder than usual? Is the amount of snow on the ground/you have received this season about normal, or below/above normal?

Oh, and by the way, I watch a TV show religiously about a pawn shop in Detroit. It's like a Jerry Springer show that takes place in a store. :D

Snowed Christmas, snowed yesterday, suppose to snow Tuesday, and then again on Wednesday. Last year (or was it two years ago) we got so much that pretty much everyone was trapped in their homes and school was canceled for a week! That was October, too! Of course when we lost one of our two spring vacations and had days tacked to the end of the year we were most unhappy.

I have not seen that but the line "Eric Olthwaite is so boring that his family all leave home to escape him" verily makes me want to!!
