Science Is Awesome!!!!!!!

They use the maximum rhino age but only the average hippo age. Same with elephants, 60 is on the high end. Then there's the whale. What species? Bowheads may live to be over 200.

I don't understand the thread's title in relation to the thread's content. What is so awesome about the figure, and how is it science?

[1] Lots of holes could be picked in this; it's just a bit of fluffy popular 'science' with some achorage in reality. Chickens living to 20 years? Things happen to most chickens long before that age, & I would say most are 'old' at ten, if they last that long. However, I knew a Sumatra x Old English Game hen that was killed on her nest by a dog at fifteen, so I suppose 20 is possible. Also, other pheasant species [and a chicken is a pheasant] have exceeded 20.
[2] I wish we could get rid of the overuse of the word 'awesome' which seems to have strayed so far from its former meaning.
