Paignton have only ever held 0.1 Salt Water Crocodile on-loan from Thrigby Hall!!Maybe someone could help?
I'm confused as to the current collection of crocs at Paignton. What do they currently hold?
I thought they had: 2 Salties, 2 Niles, 3 Cuban, 2 Caiman.
I seem to recall a Nile and/or a Saltie passing away and being replaced with X 1 or 2 Phillipines from Chester and I've heard about a False Gharial.
If so, how does the off-show area work (how many tanks) or are some off-show animals back in the area that held the Cubans before Crocodile Swamp was built?
Thanks.
Whilst I don't care for describing any species as the antithesis of another, I just can't get my head round "Tomistoma".
There's now a notice here. It's to be a savannah area holding birds including cranes and hornbills.
All change down at Lemur walk through, again! The ring tails are now in the small house at the end of Orang island (the one meant for gibbons before the curator had 'second thoughts' about the mixing!). The main house in lemur wood is now occupied by Red Fronted Lemurs who have camouflage netting over the front. The smaller netted enclosures at the back have Red Ruffed.
I thought the Gorilla island climbing structures looked somewhat unfinished and out of place - is there still work to do here?
I could only see two Barbary Sheep today - whats going on here?
