So How About the Weather....

I see that there is a monster blizzard heading to New England. Who is in the firing line? Take and post pics please! :D (Oh, and be safe.)

The Boston area is getting the worst of it here but we're getting some. School was canceled today and I'll take and post some pics later.

These pictures were taken at the hotel we are currently at. If I knew we were going earlier I would've taken some pics outside my house.

How odd.....a weather thread with no British comment!

Must rectify asap.....!!!:p

Today in South Eastern England was 2C, now below freezing (19:38 local time).

I have a hazardous weather warning in my area for Sunday - which means we will have half an inch of snow and everything will grind to a halt.....

We'll see what happens in Boston. Living in New England, anything can happen. People freak out and forget they've dealt with worse weather in the past. Always happens. Never fails. Funny how this storm is called Nemo (which spells Omen backwards!) We'll see what happens when the storms collide!!! :D

That's what happened here. We could have easily riden out the storm at home but we had to come here.

Having just finished reading 20,000 Leagues Under the Seas yesterday, I find the name Nemo appropriate and quite funny. Nemo is Latin for "no one." So you are being pelted by "Storm Nobody." Also the movie was "Finding No One." Honestly, "Finding No One" sounds like the perfect existential title for a pretentious French film.

Where I live (just north of Toronto) there is tons of snow. When I took my dog outside, she got stuck in the snow. I literally had to pick her up and carry her back inside. The best thing about today was that school was cancelled. Now I get an extra three days on my science project! :D

What is the depth of the snow? Is it about normal for this time of year? What is the temperature (max and min)?

Here in the Melbourne suburbs, we have had almost a full week over 30C today - luckily tomorrow will be about 23C. We got about 18mm of rain in one day this month, and we have not had rain for the last week.

I just looked out the window and there's a car completely covered in snow! I don't have a good photo opportunity from my room but will try to take a photo soon.

Here's the pics! I tried getting pics of a huge group of American Crows and some solid brown-colored hawk (ID? I don't think it was a Red-Tailed) but they come out well at all. The mounds in the first two pics, my friends, are cars. The last picture is the court yard I pictured yesterday.

Because there's a limit of 6 pics per post, I'll post the remaining pics here. I hope you enjoy the river ones because I sunk into a pile of snow up to my waist (and I'm 6'5!) to get over to the area I took them from.

That's a lot of snow!

And here we are complaining that it's snowing again with about 5 cm expected to fall this night. In the Netherlands we are looking forward to spring, with temperatures in the last weeks fluctuating from -13 up to +13 degrees celsius in a few days.

The snow is about 35 cm deep. This is the biggest snow storm Toronto has had in around 5 years. Right now the temperature is around -5 degrees Celsius. The snow is only supposed to last for a few days, and by Monday or Tuesday there is supposed to be heavy rain!

Wow those are some amazing pics and stories guys! Thanks for posting.

Today was quite pleasant in the suburbs: 24C. Most of this week will be in the low 30s though.

Is there any snow on the ground in north east America?

What's the weather like where you live? 34c here in the melbourne suburbs today and until Wednesday.
