Hybrids
Ben's birthdate and location match a male we know as Kismett - born at Hannover in 96 as you say, he then went to a private collection in the south of England for a couple of years before being transfered to Malton's batchelor group in 2003 or there abouts. From there he went to Marwell in Spring 2008 before transfering to the new batchelor herd at Chessington in January this year

Can't help with Steven or Richard... but don't believe either are still at Malton

Penny, Zara, Charlotte, Amber - all still at FL in a none breeding situation (seperate house and paddocks to the Rothschild herd)

AFAIK - Taharqa went straight from Marwell to Folly Farm in 2009

As for the pure herd...

George - born at Woburn in 2006 and transfered to Malton in Spring 2009

Joyce - came to Malton from somewhere in Germany during 2009?

Lizzie and Mylene both came from Arnhem afaik

Both male calves from Joyce still at Malton for now

Ben is Kismet, but he is not a hybrid, he is a Rothschild I believe. I believe that the info for Richard and Stephen is correct, but their names changed when they moved to Folly Farm. They have Swahili names, but I forget what they are. Penny died some years ago at Flamingo Land. Joyce is from Arnhem, as is one of the other girls. The other one is from knuthenborg I think. There was a hybrid male born to Penny which was hand raised for a short while, think his name was mwkwanza. Penny then had a female calf who died shortly after birth. Zara gave birth in November 09 to a male calf called Shingo.

Richard and Stephen is correct, new names are Rafiki and Zulu i think!

Penny died, 2011 or 2012, who knows better.!?
The hybrid male born 24.04.2007 to Penny which was hand raised (name Kwanza in a article from 2007), who knows what happen to him. (Any Photo of him later than 2007?)
Who knows more about Joyce, Lizzie and Mylene....

The male born 24th April 2007 was called "Wakwenza" in Flamingo Land's magazine "Furry Tails" issue 15 - "the first one" in Swahili per the article. His death was reported in issue 16 when his name had the spelling "Wakwensa". I gave him a bottle of milk when doing "keeper for a day" on 21st September 2007. The zoo was closed over the winter of 2007/08 and I did not discover he had died until my visit of 14th March 2008 - I do not have a date for his death.

Just had a closer look at the article reporting his death. It says he was eight months old.

In 2013 1.2 Rothschild's calves were born. Male Brad by Joyce was born Jan.9. I seen them all in the flesh! Just I cannot find any further info on them.

Also: if anyone can clarify when hybrid Penny's second calf was born in 2008?

Any Flamingoland regulars know more? Appreciate the help!
