Zoo Barcelona Zoo Barcelona queries and review

I *probably* will be visiting Barcelona zoo in about 10 weeks, and I have a few queries.

1. Does the zoo provide a up to date (and english) map? and if not where's the best place to get a decent one?

2.does Barcelona have Seychelles giant tortoise? someone (I won't say who) in the chat room told me they did.

3.as far as anyone knows, are there any exhibits under renovation?

4.where about in the zoo are the warthog?

5.^same question but for the long-wattled umbrellabird

6. Am I right in saying that Barca no longer have golder-headed quetzal?

7.how long would it take to get around the zoo?

8.On the website -> spaces in the zoo, it has 'gorilla exhibition', am I right in saying that that isn't the gorilla exhibit?

9.anything anyone wants me to photograph/ask?

I will post a review after my visit, but it might be an other week or two due to time.

they have Galapagos, Aldabra and Seychelles giant tortoises. Of the Seychelles they just have the one and it is in with the Aldabras. It is the one with the deformed shell so you should be able to spot it. (I haven't been there; I've just been googling).

I´ll try to ask some of these questions, but i believe aim_foliksta will answer them better.

3. They sometimes do small renovations. They recently renovated the Hippo exhibit and they might do the Oragutans next.
4. At the Northern Part of the zoo, i believe.

8. It´s a ludic space that talks about gorillas and "Snowflake", the albino gorilla.

Don't forget to visit "El Reptilari"-Reptile house-. It's just amazing for the number of species we can see. For me with "l'Aviari" - Bird house- two of the best areas of the zoo.

Those were the two areas I was planning to spend the most time in, they both look great!
 
By the looks of it on google maps street view, the monsery mountain was blocked of. Is it open to the public now?
 
The Montserrat mountain (not Montseny) is open. Was closed some times, specially during 2001-2002 (aprox.) when was rehabilitated and new species were added (now most of them are no longer at the zoo, like chamois, eagle owls or barn owls).

What you can see on Street View is what happened during a short period of time when some animals were moved (you can see a fence that divides the ibex exhibit, with ibex on one side and Lybian barbary sheeps on the other side). I think that the zoo was doing some works at the barbary sheep exbibit and moved them there. The path was bocked due this movement. Other movement was to put mouflons at the former vultures aviary.

Thank you. I didn't think montserrat as that is a carribean Island.
 
Montserrat is a tipical catalan name (female) and the Montserrat mountain is very famous here

The Montserrat mountain of the zoo has a shape similar to the original mountain. That zone was suposed to be the zone for the iberian fauna.

I will be truly miffed (sad) to see that iconic part of the zoo go. I welcome that for native species zoos invest in good presentation and exhibits. For all its neediness for renovations in exhibitory the Montserrat was a paragon / an advertisement.

Incidentally, I believe the first griffon vulture hatched recently in Montserrat!

Yes, just today I went to take some photos, but was not in Montserrat. It was in the mixed aviary of griffon vultures and black vultures, located between the Doñana aviary and the cheetah exhibits.
